Yeah, my summer isn’t shaping up to be very exciting. But I can at least make it sound exciting, and so can you, by adding the hashtag #thissummer to the end of your Tweets. France-based telecom company Orange may pick up your Tweet and give it the movie treatment, making it sound like your lazy summer by the pool should actually involve car chases and harrowing escapes from death. I submitted the insurance one – you can follow me on Twitter to see if it gets picked up! And be sure to let us know if yours is used. We’d love to hear a trailer for your summer.

Sean Michael Ragan of Make read that it was possible to dry and shape the skin of an orange into a functional box. Although his is not as impressive as the one above, he was able to prove that it could be done. Ragan writes:

The original description mentions that the peels are “squeezed thin” after soaking, but before forming and drying, which is something I haven’t attempted yet. How, I wonder, do you squeeze an intact hemispherical citrus peel into a thin layer without damaging it?

As a kid I remember watching Dick Tracy and being awed by his ultra cool wrist-watch phone. I wanted one. I still want one. Thanks to the folks at LG, now we can all have one. LG’s G910 Touch Watch phone, available later this year, is a mere 13.9mm thick and features a full touch-screen interface, video calling capabilities and an MP3 player. There are a lot of firsts for this little device – it’s the first of its kind and the first to be supported by a major mobile phone carrier. That mobile carrier is Europe’s Orange, which means if you don’t live in Europe you’ll probably have to wait a bit longer to sprint through the streets pretending to be on a top-secret mission.
