She should be easy to spot in a crowd, even of crowd of ponies, because her mane and tail are bright pink.

Siri Cole runs a unique business, Charming Party Ponies. She owns petite little ponies, available for rent at parties and festivals.

Pixie is a 10-year-old white Welsh pony mare, Cole’s prized possession.

“I love her, she’s really dear to me,” she says. “I really want her back.”

Pixie performed Saturday night at a festival offering rides to children. She was put away in her stall about 9 p.m. The next morning, she was nowhere to be found.

Cole believes someone must have taken Pixie. Link -via Arbroath

Two Coastguard helicopters were dispatched to search the seaside cliffs.

The man was originally reported missing to Tayside Police at 11.40pm after his wife became concerned and contacted her son who raised the alarm.

After hours of searching, the pensioner was eventually found safe and well in the flat next door to his own home, where he appears to have let himself in.

He had apparently let himself in. No one thought to check the neighbor’s house until after the helicopter search had begun. Link -via Arbroath

Actually, friends helped her post 2,000 of the missing unicorn posters.

“I was travelling back and forth in the subways, and I just noticed the dejection. I’m a pop artist, and I thought –- if I could just make one person smile. I was thinking about ways to do that,” she said.

“A unicorn is beyond race, beyond religion. I wanted something that could reach anyone at any age. I thought, if I could just make a handful of businessmen on Wall Street think about unicorns, I will be successful.”

Hixon received 350 phone calls in the first day. She went on to install a hotline and a website for people to report their unicorn sightings. Link to story. Link to website. -via Fortean Times

…but the cat came back. The old song came true in the case of Alfie, an orange tom that belongs to Angelo Petrillo of Milnrow, Greater Manchester, England. Petrillo buried a cat he was sure was Alfie after a car hit the cat near his home last year. Then the Petrillo family moved to a new house. Nine months later, a friend from the old neighborhood called to tell Petrillo that a ginger cat was at their old house trying to get in!

Mrs Petrillo, 35, a manager for a wine company, returned to the couple’s old home a mile away – and immediately recognised the cat as Alfie.

The three-year-old had lost the collar he used to wear and had put on weight, suggesting someone else had been looking after him while he was being mistakenly mourned.

Mr Petrillo said: ‘It was just unbelievable – the cat I had buried nine months earlier, the cat we spent about a month grieving over, was back, and my wife just couldn’t believe what she was seeing.’

The Petrillos still don’t know whose cat they buried, or where Alfie has been all that time. Link -via Digg

Natalie Jasmer was so good at hide-and-seek that her frantic family called the cops to help them look for the two-year-old toddler:

Natalie went missing Tuesday evening while playing the game with her brother and sisters and the best efforts of neighbors, police and firefighters called by her frantic parents weren’t enough to turn up the tot.

The terrifying ordeal for her parents ended happily after more than an hour of scouring the neighborhood around the 10th Street mobile home park where the Jasmers live.

In the end, it was the family dog that flushed her out.

“Copper found her,” Natalie’s brother Kenny Findley said, crediting the mutt with discovering the tiny girl asleep inside a drawer underneath the washing machine in the family’s home.
