Though a WWI British warplane appears to have just landed on top of 77 Water Street in Lower Manhattan, the antique plane has resided on top of the office building since 1969. Film location scout Nick Carr only recently uncovered why: the owners of the building just figured they might as well do something interesting with the otherwise unused top of the building.
