Gavin Worth sure knows how to bend a line, and design, and construct beautiful works of art. It’s amazing how he uses a thin strand of wire to portray the human form so elegantly, and yet faithfully retains the integrity of the original sketch.

Surely you’ve heard someone say that humans only use 10% of our brains (and some people even less), but that turns out to be a just myth:
William James, a psychologist in the 1800s, once metaphorically used the idea of 10% of the brain being all that was used at one time. This grew into the rumor that it was all the brain was overall and most of the rest was not understood or used as far as we know. Actually, the inactive neurons are just as important at any given moment as the ones actively firing at a point in time, and the 10% comes from varying areas at different times.

Have you ever wondered what horizontal cross sections of the human body look like? Here is an animation of a full-body MRI from head to toe! Don’t blink or you’ll miss a vital organ. Link -via Blame It On The Voices
Update: According to several commenters, the images used in this animation are from The Visible Human Project and were taken from a deceased body, using MRI and CT scans and cryogenic cross sections. That body belonged to 39-year-old Joseph Paul Jernigan, who was executed for murder and had donated his body to science.
