Godzilla Was A Real Gentleman

Posted by Jill Harness in Entertainment, Film on January 28, 2012 at 11:02 pm

If you’ve seen the films, then you might not know it, but when the cameras weren’t rolling, Godzilla was actually quite a well-mannered gentleman adored by the women on the set. Just look at this lucky lady being accompanied by this studly ladies man

Godzilla Christmas Tree

Posted by John Farrier in Christmas, Holiday on December 8, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Allegedly, this is a picture of a Godzilla-shaped Christmas tree that appeared in the Aqua City Odaiba shopping mall. Within minutes, it destroyed the mall. So, in retrospect, it was a really bad idea.

Evol’s Urban City

Posted by Nan Koenig in Art, Art & Design on July 30, 2011 at 8:57 am

Ever had a fantasy to be like Godzilla?  Now you can play them out in an unusual installation by German street artist EVOL. This installation is a small city constructed at the average person’s height for an experience of seeming large. It took EVOL and his team eight days to excavate and install the city block. Check out the other photographs at Colossal, a great website for art and design.

(Video link)

Do you enjoy watching giant rubber monsters destroying cities and fighting with spandex clad superheroes who ride color coordinated motorcycles? Or the good old cinematic days of Giant Lizard vs. Giant Moth vs. Giant Gorilla vs. Giant Robot vs. all of Japan? If the answer is yes, then you are a Kaiju lover, and you probably didn’t even know it! Check out this great video from Kaiju Big Battel which will explain all you need to know about Kaiju culture at the link.

Japanese Homeland Security Advisory System

Posted by Alex in Bizarro Comic, Pictures, Politics on March 15, 2009 at 3:10 am

Quick – who knows the US government’s current national threat level? (It’s been elevated or yellow for quite a while, with domestic and international flights being with high or orange).

Dan Piraro pointed out that Japan has a much more meaningful security advisory system, but apparently he forgot that we also have this: the Elmo Terror Alert Level

For more Bizarro, check out Dan’s website and blog.
