A reader of Geekologie sent in this great story of how a terrible Edward tattoo obtained during a bet eventually became an awesome Rufio tattoo in what is arguably the greatest tattoo portrait cover up ever.
“OK, so this guy I used to know recently made a deal with his friend that they would choose each other’s tattoos and they would each get theirs while being blindfolded. He took his blindfold off to see this — Edward, from Twilight! Yikes! So later he had it covered up with RUFIOOOO!”
OH HELL YES. I asked my little lady to turn the pictures into an animated gif, but the angles make it look like there’s a colored part in Edward that doesn’t appear in Rufio. Like I said, that’s just the angle.
I know many of you don’t like tattoos to start with, but you have to admit, if you’re going to get a tattoo on a bet, this cover up is probably one of the best outcomes you could hope for.
No, it’s not about LOL cats per se. Instead it’s about Ben Huh, the genius behind I Can Has Cheezburger, FAIL Blog, Know Your Meme and all those other memetastic sites. The show will be on Bravo and is tentatively called Huh? I once tried to paint one with real paint at a party where everyone was doing the same and mine was probably the worst, looking like a six year-old’s rendition of a dying Tony the Tiger. Fortunately, not everyone is as lacking in artistry as I am. In fact, some people have turned the process of coloring Easter eggs into a true art form. And where there’s art, there’s geekery. If I could give out an award for best over all geek Easter egg creator, it would have to go to Flickr user Rakka. For starters, there’s this fun little Bender design. Just tell me you don’t want to bite his shinny metal yolk.

The only problem with these adorable LEGO eggs is that unlike the real thing, they don’t interlock with one another. Even so, they’d be perfect for any youngster who prefers LEGOland over Disneyland.

Comments Off I know April Fool’s Day was yesterday, but since most people don’t go to work on Sundays, today is certainly the best day to pull off any office pranks you’ve had planned. Admittedly, most good office pranks take a bit of time and preparation to pull off, so it might be too late to do something super outrageous if you haven’t already planned it, even so, these might at least give you some inspiration for April 1, 2013.
At LEGOLAND, employees quickly learn that anything can be remade with legos…including the vehicles of their co-workers. So naturally, the team stole another employee’s car, moved it and forklifted in a LEGO version of the same vehicle. The doppelganger car weighed 2,934 pounds and took 201,076 LEGOs to build. Of course, being a LEGO-lover himself, the victim couldn’t help but be impressed.
No, these clever pranksters didn’t do anything to the office bathroom –that kind of potty humor is too immature for a workplace environment. Instead, they turned their co-worker’s office into a bathroom. This one takes a lot of time, money and effort, so make sure you’re ready to commit to the project before diving in….also, make sure the victim isn’t dumb enough to actually try using the toilet after you put it in her office. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve had a lot of bosses I wouldn’t trust not to use it.
Who doesn’t love having some live plants growing at their desk? Oh yeah, someone who has a keyboard full of cress. To try this prank out for yourself, simply remove the keys of a keyboard and place down some cotton. Sprinkle in some cress or grass seeds and water, and then replace the keys. Spray lightly with water a few times a day and in a few weeks you’ll have a healthy baby garden ready to confuse your victim. Just switch out his keyboard when he’s not looking, and you’re done!
It might not be the safest or most grown-up prank out there, but let’s face it, turning your co-worker’s desk into a booby trapped mess is certainly one of the most fun pranks out there. If you want to build your own, Instructables user PocketSized has all the guidance you need to create a tripwire-activated booby trap. Of course, you have to be careful as you don’t want to shoot anyone’s eye out with a poorly aimed push pin.
Because nothing says “super natural” and “occult” like Hello Kitty. From what I hear they’re fairly accurate, but only after you spill the blood of a virgin unicorn on them first, otherwise the cards are just nonsense.

It can’t be said that they lack chemistry, that’s for sure.
While we’ve featured plenty of geeky weddings, I think this might be the first one based on science. And the theme penetrated every aspect of the wedding:
“They fell in love with the idea of the scientific geek wedding theme because of the incorporation of a lot of glass elements such as beakers, petri dishes, test tubes, eye droppers, which would all have very good light-catching elements,” writes Wedding Chicks. “All of these scientific elements were sourced from laboratory supply houses so that they would be 100% authentic.” When the guests arrived they were able to sign in at the Periodic Table of Elements!

Comments Off December 1, 1986 was a big day for Princess Diana and Prince Charles. It was the day they met a real-life monster at the Labyrinth Royal Premiere. While film goers soon learned just how sweet Ludo was, keep in mind, this meet up occurred before the royals saw the film -for all they knew, he was a fan of ripping people’s arms off and munching on roasted fingernails like John used to do before we weaned him onto Corn Nuts. Of course, if you look at the expression on Di’s face, it looks like that’s what she assumed.

There’s nothing trashy about the great geeky trash cans over at Mental Floss. I really like this 3D graffiti trash can, but I have to wonder about how it will look when it was pulled away from the wall. It’s possible that it has a 2D horse behind the trash can, but that’s just not that cool.
Have any of you seen the moving trash cans at Disney’s California Adventure? Those definitely need to be added to this list.
