9 Movie Villains That Were Actually Right

Posted by Jill Harness in Entertainment, Film, Science Fiction on July 28, 2011 at 12:48 am

When you think about it, Edward Rooney from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was just trying to do his job to ensure a high school delinquent didn’t get away with ditching school while everyone else had to go. He’s not the only movie villain who actually wasn’t that bad of a guy in the long run. Cracked has 8 more and they have some really valid points.

Is This Really the Script to a Ferris Bueller Sequel?

Posted by Stacy in Film on June 13, 2011 at 6:14 pm

The blog Stuck in the ’80s says it is. I had to double-check the date on the post just to make sure it wasn’t an old April Fool’s joke just now making the Internet rounds, but no – Steve Spears says Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off is the real deal. It seems Ferris has made a mint on motivational speaking, but wealth isn’t making him happy. What he needs is – yep, you guessed it – another day off.

Screenwriter Rick Rapier has been trying to sell his screenplay for the past few years, but says in the past few months “Big name production companies that have first-look production deals with Paramount are reading the script,” meaning Ferris Part Two could feasibly see the light of day. Some blogs seem to think Rapier is, um, exaggerating slightly about the Hollywood insider interest in the movie.

What do you think??

Cameron’s Home

Posted by Queuebot in Architecture on May 29, 2009 at 7:19 am

"The place is like a museum. It’s very beautiful and very cold, and you’re not allowed to touch anything."~ Ferris Bueller

The home that once served as the set for Ferris’ friend Cameron’s home, in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is for sale. You can refresh your memory by watching this scene.

The Ben Rose Home in Highland Park, Illinois, was designed by architects A. James Speyer and David Haid, and constructed in 1953. It is being listed by Sotheby’s for $2.3 million. More images are available here.

No School for 5 Days = $1 Billion Savings for California

Posted by Alex in Money & Finance, Politics on January 10, 2009 at 12:47 am

Students in California are probably cheering Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s plan to save $1 billion to help the state’s big budget deficit by shortening
the school year by five days.

In other news, it costs $200 million a day (!) to run California’s schools!
Let’s give them 10 days off and save $2 billion!
