According to the longer version, this is a 1986 clip from the BBC-TV series That’s Life. The George Hotel pub in Castle Cary, Somerset, has three German Shepherds, Jade, Guy, and Izzy, that enjoy a little seltzer. The dogs’ owner speaks to them in Japanese -or at least that’s what he said he was speaking. -via Arbroath
The YouTube title of this video is Dogs Match Music Notes Perfectly, which is a bit misleading because several times the dogs hit a note before the ocarina player does. I’m not sure exactly how this was accomplished, but it’s cute. -via Buzzfeed
Eat, dance, sleep. It’s a dog’s life! This clip is a sample from a longer British Pathe reel from 1952 called Sophisticated She Dog. Link -via Arbroath
Aww, this poor, poor puppy. His best friend lit up his life and then just died as quickly as their friendship began.
Runty is off-key and alternating his tempo. More practice! Porter and Tucker can play. Why can’t you?! No walkies until I hear “Marching to Pretoria” played properly!

The first world problems meme might be a bit old right now, but first world dog problems is all new and seriously funny. Personally, I love the “I have to pee, but it’s raining outside,” as that’s what my dog does all the time.
This little guy sure loves the high dive. After all, it’s not easy for a pup to climb a ladder like this.

I had no idea birds were so keen on feeding dogs food, but it must be fairly common as Serious Eats has a whole collection of videos featuring just that. Do any of you have a bird that tries to feed your other pets?
The bread loaf fits through the hallway, but not through the narrow entrance to her crate. Now what? Watch this dog think through the problem.
Now that’s an animal friendship you don’t see too often. Isn’t it precious though?

As a kitty, that’s a good way to get your puppy to like you, and Toby the pug is certainly not complaining here.
Given how playful they are, it’s hardly surprising that dogs love the springy, fun feeling of trampolines. The Huffington Post has a good selection of adorable pups hoping around to their heart’s content.
These two rescued critters are currently being fostered by YouTube user nrc5878. Apparently, in her home, kitties are in charge -not the pitbulls.
Meet Maddie, she’s quickly becoming one of the most popular dogs on the internet. Why? Because she can stand on all kinds of things. According to her owner and photographer, documenting Maddie standing on things is “a super serious project about dogs and physics.”

This year’s Westminster Dog show winners was a Pekingese and while most people know what the dogs look like and might even have a friend or family member who have one, you’d be surprised how much you don’t know about the breed. For example:
Lions aren’t common in China, so when artists wanted to model the big cat — a symbol of the Buddha — they used the Pekingese, hence their “lion dog” nickname.
Disney released this great real life version of the classic moment from Lady and the Tramp to celebrate the upcoming release of the film on Blu-ray. While Tramp doesn’t look quite right and the spaghetti slurping isn’t exactly the same, it’s still pretty true to the original, which is pretty impressive when it comes to directing real dogs to act like animations.

Lazy dog owners across the world could use these brilliant inventions to help exercise their pets without actually having to walk themselves.
Even the sweetest pooch can get serious when it comes to competitive ball. Pet photographer Seth Casteel captured funny underwater images of friendly dogs looking ferocious while diving for balls.
I don’t know about you guys, but I have never had a dog that actually enjoyed baths, especially one that pretty much laid back and soaked like this one does. I can tell you it would be a welcome change though.

Wikki wikki wikki what. Go Frenchie, it’s your birthday.

Of course, I’d hate to see this Dovahkiin actually slay the equally adorable elder dragon.

This is what I look like after a night of hardcore blogging. To be fair, a dog this lazy could only belong to a lazy person who obviously didn’t want to bother cleaning up the spilled food himself.
Even one Saint Bernard by itself is a lot of dog. Yes, they belong to a breeder, Lasquite’s Saint Bernards in British Columbia. I can’t even imagine how much kibble they go through. -via reddit
You can’t take your dog into grocery stores, so where do you put him? If you tie him up outside, someone could steal him. The Hundehiet is one solution from Norway. Just stick your dog inside while you shop and pick him up when you’re done.

What happens when a little dog finds a giant pile of leaves to play in? Hilarity, of course.

This might just be the happiest the dog I’ve ever seen online…which is saying a lot.

Denmark is responsible for the defense of Greenland. To serve this role over such a vast and harsh land, the Royal Danish Navy maintains Sirius, the only special forces unit in the world that travels primarily by dogsled. Photographer Fritz Hoffman joined one team on its patrol into the frozen wilderness, snapping pictures of the amazing men and dogs who keep the peace there. You can view several more at the link.

But what’s not obvious is that the dog isn’t working for the Alliance. He’s a spy for the Empire. The hairy emblem is part of a false flag operation. Do not trust this dog owned by a friend of Geekologie reader Joe.
I don’t often use the word “squee,” but this video just evokes the noise from my lips. What about you guys?
You’ve already seen a picture of the AT-AT dog, but this shot of the little one munching on dinner is simply too precious to ignore.
