The world population is expected to reach seven billion within the next few days. Wonder what number you are? A calculator from the BBC helps you find out approximately where you fit in. I have a relatively low number, as there weren’t even three billion people when I was born. Link -via Breakfast Links

Have you heard about the Crazy Calculator, the calculator that hates math? It’s both a prank calculator and a real calculator! When your friends are around, use it in prank mode. If I lived on Neptune I would be less than a Neptune year old, how old would you be? This nifty calculator allows you to figure out your “age” on different planets (including dwarf planet Pluto). Every grade school student knows we measure years by how long it takes the Earth to travel around the Sun. However it’s interesting to think how time measurement would be different if we lived on a world like Mercury that takes only 88 Earth days to travel around the sun. Link
Practical it is not, but this gadget sure is nifty! The Hydro Power Calculator ($9.95) is powered by water – all you have to do is fill the "batteries" with tap water and you’re ready to calculate.
Water-powered battery consists of two electrodes made of special alloys, which, when immersed in water, produce electricity through a chemical reaction.
Simply refill the battery as the water evaporates – typically every 2 to 3 months. The battery has a minimum continuous life of 2 years.

The Inverse Graphing Calculator takes words and converts them into equations that would express them graphically:
The Inverse Graphing Calculator (version beta-1) is like a backwards graphing calculator. Normally, you enter an equation into your calculator and then get a graph of the curve. The way the IGC works is, you type something you’d like as your curve, like ‘Hello World’ or ‘I love you’. The IGC produces an *equation* which has this phrase as its graph!

The beautiful Casio Databank 2888JA over at Tokyoflash – pre-order at $112.28; (R) The cheaper yet still geeky chic Cal-Q-Tek 2000 Calculator Watch at the Neatorama Shop – $14.95
I have a soft spot in my heart for geeky wristwatches. Maybe it’s all those childhood conditioning (Dick Tracy’s wrist phone, anyone?) but when Tokyoflash came out with their limited time offer of the Casio Databank 2888JA, I’m all over it. It’s a bit pricey, so for the budget-conscious geek, may I suggest our retro-fun Cal-Q-Tek 2000 wrist watch over at the Neatorama Shop?

Enter your birthdate at Dead At Your Age, and you will find out which famous people died at a younger age than you are now. I don’t know if this is supposed to make me feel good or bad, but I found out that I have already outlived Rod Serling and Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. I’m sure that I have outlived a lot of other famous people, but those died closest to the age I am today. Link -via the Presurfer
