Elvis the crocodile lives at Australian Reptile Park near Sydney. He did not appreciate the noisy lawnmower that was invading his territory, so he captured it and pulled it into his underwater home. Elvis stood guard over his catch until park staff could lure him away with kangaroo meat. When they recovered the mower, two of Elvis’ teeth were still embedded in the engine casing from the attack! My brother, nephews and a friend go “fishing” down a small drainage ditch in the flooded Spoon River.
They counted 70+ 5-10lb. Asian Carp once they stopped the boat. The funniest part, is that Matthew, my youngest nephew, is curled up in the fetal position in the front of the boat the entire time, and you never see him! Also it is absolutely infinitely more hilarious when viewed in slow motion.
Asian Flying Carp are an invasive species that is currently wreaking havoc on Midwestern waterways. And as you can see, they’re aggressive.

A quiet neighborhood in Vermont is on alert today. They are on the lookout for a vicious attacker. Witnesses say he has gray hair and pointy teeth.
According to Kevin McDonald the gray squirrel in his yard jumped him for no reason.
“It kind of startled me and I whirled around to look and saw this furry thing on my back and it was a gray squirrel,” McDonald said.
While McDonald cleared snow from his front yard a gray squirrel jumped onto his back three separate times.
“It jumped at me again and got on my upper arm and started to claw and scratch and I threw it off again and it jumped at me again,” he said with a laugh.
Since the initial attack the Squirrel has gone after two of McDonald’s neighbors.
Tambun Gediu of Kg Sungai Tiang, Malaysia, was hunting squirrels when he encountered a tiger. The 60-year-old man tried to climb a nearby tree, but the tiger dragged him down. Gediu’s wife, 55-year-old Han Besau, heard the tiger’s roar.
Realising it was coming from the area where her husband was hunting for squirrels she grabbed the nearest ‘weapon’ – the wooden ladle – and rushed into the nearby forest.
Staring in horror at the sight of her husband fighting desperately to prevent the tiger tearing him to pieces, she didn’t hesitate and charged at the animal, yelling at the top of her voice and bashing its head with the ladle until it ran off.
Tambun, who suffered deep lacerations on his head, face, neck and knees, had to wait more than 10 hours before he could be taken to hospital in the nearest town, Gerik, because rescuers had difficulty reaching his remote village.
This little feller, a European Hamster (yes, they also exist in Russia), turns out to be quite a feisty little rodent, as these two hapless Russians found out the hard way (they need the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!). In Soviet Russia, hamsters eat you!

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a story about a crocodile attacking a baby elephant. That news article said that crocodiles don’t normally attack elephants. Maybe something has changed, because it’s happened again -this time in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park. Swiss tourist Martin Nyfeler caught several photographs of the encounter between a mother elephant with her baby and a Nile crocodile. Link -Thanks, Marilyn Terrell!
Fourteen-year-old Kora Wira was fishing in Florida with her parents when a barracuda jumped out of the water and bit her arm! The 42-inch fish landed in the boat and was killed by Wira’s father. Between docking the boat and driving to the hospital, there was one more chore to be done.
Wira and her dad stopped for a quick picture before jumping in the car and heading to the hospital. Wira said she wasn’t in pain at the moment, but she was still creeped out by the fish. Her arm needed 51 stitches, and doctors told her they had never treated a barracuda bite. Her stitches are out now, and she said her arm is healing.

Ants are such amazing creatures! Able to work together to create vast underground empires and take down almost any animal of any size…even humans! So, what happens when a creature such as the crab ends up getting the ants attention? In a Goliath vs. David (x100 or so) situation a crab thinks its protective armor is a deterrent preventing the ants from killing it, guess again. I can’t imagine what it must feel like having something start eating you from the inside out. O_O

A 3-foot-tall macaw named Chip is in a bit of trouble over a traffic stop. The bird, who starred in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, attacked a policeman in the course of his duties in Dover, England.
The officer arrested the woman on suspicion of driving while banned.
The attack came when he attempted to drive her car to the pound, with Chip loose inside.
The parrot, who has a 1.2m wingspan, perched on the steering wheel, pecking at the officer’s fingers throughout the journey.
Chip was not arrested, but is being held by the RSPCA until his unnamed owner is released. Link -via Arbroath
72-year-old Dawn Fraser confronted two teenage home intruders at her daughter’s home in Noosaville, Australia. One attacked her, thinking a little old lady wouldn’t resist much. What he didn’t realize was that Frazer has always been a tough lady.
“Out came this guy who then grabbed me around the throat and said ‘I will kill you’, and with that I grabbed him around the ear and hair and kneed him in the groin,” she told Channel Seven television late Monday.
“I was threatened by the way he spoke to me and I’d never been spoken to like what he called me … I think I lost it. I have got a titanium knee so it must have hurt him,” she said.
