What an excellent idea! The execution itself doesn’t seem more technical than any other pointillist style, but the addition of perfectly uniform lines, cross-hatching and depth is ingenious. I must try this!

I was curious about the cost – the most expensive heavy duty staples at Staples is $8.49 for 1000 staples. $35,000 staples comes in just under $300. The artist likely bought them at bulk and spent quite a bit less. I was really expecting it to cost more money.

Bet he used an electric or pneumatic stapler. I wouldn’t put it beyond some cheating with a projector either. I wonder how much each cost in staples and labor?
