University Creates "Puppy Room" for Stressed-Out Students

For many college students around the world, it's time to take final exams for the end of semester or quarter. It can be an incredibly stressful time for students, so some schools offer special events that help relieve stress. The University of Central Lancashire in the UK thinks that playing with puppies can help.

That's why this Wednesday, the University has a designated Puppy Room. Research shows that playing with puppies can relieve stress, so the school invites students to visit and play for a bit. Students have to make appointments in advance in order to limit the number of interactions. Otherwise, the puppies themselves might get overwhelmed and stressed.

When life events become hard to take, it is healthy and wise to devise coping strategies to maintain functionality. Availing oneself of a Puppy in order to alleviate otherwise debilitating stress is a correct response.
