13 Bizarre Licensed Products Based On Horror Franchises

Horror movies aren't normally thought of as hot licenses for merchandising, but manufacturers keep making strange products based on scary movies anyway.

Here's an unlucky 13 different licensed, and totally bizarre, products based on horror movies and tv shows:

1. Psycho shower curtain-

Hitchcock's Psycho was the original slasher flick, with an unforgettable shower scene that made an entire generation start looking over their shoulder while they scrubbed their backs.

Now, thanks to this licensed Psycho shower curtain by Kikkerland, you can recreate that terrifying scene every time you take a shower!

2. Seed of Chucky condom-

This was a promotional item distributed by Rogue Pictures before the movie's release in 2004, and a totally original way to advertise a film with 'seed' in the title.

The message behind the item is pretty clear- choose safe sex and pregnancy prevention over a world full of Good Guy doll lovin' brats!

3. The Walking Dead Yahtzee-

The zombie craze reignited by the hit TV show The Walking Dead has resulted in many strange licensed products being made based on the show, like this family friendly game Zombie Yahtzee.

So that's what zombies have rattling around in their skulls!

4. The Rocky Horror Picture Show Dr. Frankenfurter rubber duckie-

He's one of the strangest characters in genre movie history, and now you can let him take a bath with you, if you're brave enough to resist his advances...

5. Stoyn Trash Horror of 80s Ice Scream-

Nothing says cool and refreshing like sucking on a famous movie monster's head...at least they're not blood and guts flavored!

However, some of the flavors sound appropriately scary, like Tomato Hot Pepper Freddy and Apple Carrot Chucky, and they even made a second series featuring the coolest creep of them all- Pinhead!

6. Chia Zombie-

Ever ready to jump on the latest pop culture bandwagon, the Chia company has released a rotten new line of zombie inspired planters.

I don't know what's scarier- that zombies have become so mainstream that Chia is making zombie merch, or the terrible planters that look like they were sculpted by the undead.

7. A Nightmare On Elm Street Toaster-

Freddy Krueger's face looks like it was pressed in to the heated coils of a toaster, so it's safe to assume he's not a big fan of toast with his breakfast.

But if you're a fan of the Elm Street films you can start every day with a scare thanks to this officially licensed toaster, which burns Freddy's image into ever slice. Just try not to use it while sleepwalking...

8. The Walking Dead zombie head gelatin mold-

Nothing says delicious like slurping down on some chilled zombie face, and there's no better way to make a big splash at a potluck than bringing gelatin shaped like a rotten walker.

Here's the horrifying face on the mold:

And here's the finished product in all it's disgusting glory. Something tells me people will be skipping the gelatin when this monstrosity shows up.

9. Living Dead Dolls Leatherface edition-

The lovable dollies released by Mezco under the name Living Dead Dolls are all quite creepy, but the Leatherface edition really takes the face cake!

Here it is in its package, where it should stay lest it escape your house and go on a killing spree!

10. 13th Street Bowlingheads-

This horrifyingly cool set of gory bowling balls aren't from a particular show or franchise, they were made to advertise German cable network 13th Street.

There are a lot of zombie themed bowling balls available today, but these gory balls get my vote because it looks like you're actually picking the victim up by their eye socket, mouth or nostril.

And here's a cool video showing artist Oliver Paass working his morbid magic on each ball:

11. The Rocky Horror Picture Show makeup line by MAC Cosmetics-

Dr. Frankenfurter is a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania, so what guy or girl wouldn't want to look just like him/her? Forget the London look- all the cool kids are going for the loony look!

12. Captain Spaulding Halloween Mask-

Captain Spaulding is just some older dude with his face painted up like a clown, so why would you wear a mask that's hot and hard to see out of when you could just paint your face?

This officially licensed, and Rob Zombie approved, mask is so big and creepy it looks more like a mascot head!

13. The Walking Dead Screwdriver Zombie Bluray Box Set-

We've featured a few Walking Dead themed products in this collection, but this bloody conversation starter takes the cake!

The Walking Dead released their limited edition second season Blu-ray box set in this disgusting Screwdriver zombie packaging, and now this sick collector's oddity demands big bucks online.

As you can see horror themed merch doesn't have to be all gore and grit, sometimes it's good for a laugh too!

Won't lie. Kinda want the Freddy toaster. But see, you'd have to disguise it as a normal toaster, and then invite friends over for breakfast.... 8D
