Children Go On Field Trip To Murder Trial

A Connecticut Mother took her two children, ages 6 and 7, on a field trip to watch a  murder trial.  The Mother home-schools her children and wanted to use this opportunity to teach her children about the legal process.   Some critics have argued that a murder trial is no place for children. The Mother vehemently disagrees.
To those who say a murder trial is no place for children, there's this.

"Then where is the place? Is it in front of a videogame where you're slaughtering your opponents and no parents are around to monitor it?” Jennifer Ghoshray told News 8. “I mean, I'm here, I'm interactive, we took notes when my children had a couple of questions I discussed with them."

I absolutely hate seeing stories like this on the news. I'm going to be homeschooling my children, and people like this make all homeschoolers look like kooks. Think about this: have you EVER seen a positive news story regarding homeschoolers? The media seems to only report on the fringe weird ones. In my opinion, 6 or 7 is too young for a murder trial, although I do think taking the kids to court to observe a trial is a really good idea.

While I disagree with her view points on videogame violence, she has a good point with teaching her children about crime & punishment.
