The animation of a dramatic rescue, from Birdbox Studio. Not to give away the ending, but it kind of reminds me of the old Emily Litella skits from SNL in the 1970s. -via Everlasting Blort
Popular British game show Countdown gets a whole lot more intense when the letters spell out the name of that most famous of Great Old Ones-Cthulhu!
This bloody animated short was made by Peephole Circus, and it’s as square as they come. Don’t watch if animated blood, and tentacles, make you squeamish.

This amazing new animated music video for The Shins song The Rifle’s Spiral is full of stop motion goodness and a style inspired in part by the art of Edward Gorey.
It was created by Jamie Caliri, who is perhaps best known for the animated end title sequence he created for Lemony Snicket’s film A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
It’s a feast for the senses, with lots to look at and a song that really rocks!

Death by Chocolate? Puh-leeze! Gemma Correll has got all the hip new deadly desserts laid out for us. I mean, who can resist the Flesh Eating Virus by Fudge? Two slices, please!

Excited about the new The Avengers movie that's coming out? Surely you'll be the first in line for the midnight showing?
Well, be sure to wear something warm on your noggin, like these awesome The Avengers Laplander Hats from the NeatoShop (Yes, there's also a Spider-Man one, but he ain't no Avengers! Well, maybe the New Avengers but that's cheatin')
LinkI’m not sure how old this little critter is or if it has meant a rat who will become its sensei in time, but even if he’s not a teenager or a ninja, he’s certainly a mutant already. Personally, I’d rather watch him run around than watch the new Michael Bay movie.

It took me a while to find the original source of this Totoro Nail Art (down the Tumblr hatch I went), but I eventually nailed it! Turns out, the blog Korean blogger Luuthienluv specializes in creating these fantastic nail art (the Totoro one is her 139th)
Love Totoro? See neat and hard to find Totoro items on the NeatoShop (it's very difficult to keep Totoro items in stock, so if you see anything you like, grab it)

Now this is geek chic. If you want to dress marvelously "Marvel"-ous, just like the characters from Marvel Comics, look no further than this: Looking MARVELous, a fashion Tumblr blog and Polyvore site which suggests what to wear.

John and I will pair up as Batroc the Leaper (I love the 'stache) and Banshee (John can't resist the stripes) tomorrow.
In the belly of the Sarlacc, Boba Fett found a new definition of love and tenderness as he was lovingly embraced for over a thousand years. And even now, cartoonist Chris Gugliotti tells us, “A cool breeze across the dunes of Tatooine still [whispers] the name….Fett.”

I’m sure you’re familiar with Frank’s work as a voice actor, even though you might not recognize his face or know his name.
He was the voice of Fred Jones in Scooby Doo, Doctor Claw in Inspector Gadget, Nibbler on Futurama and can be seen in the video above letting out a mighty roar for The Lion King.
His vocal talents have netted him a boatload of cash, and now you can put a face to the voices in your head!

They get into a mystery machine and go on adventures, seemingly at random. There’s a talking dog. It’s the same show.
It’s obvious who the Daphne figure is. But who’s the Shaggy of Doctor Who?

Axe Cop, the story of a heroic cop with an axe, was the brainchild of 5-year old Malachai Nicolle and 29-year old Ethan Nicolle. Malachai writes the stories and Ethan, a professional cartoonist, draws them. Now two years after the launch of their landmark comic, Fox announced that it has ordered six fifteen-minute episodes of an animated Axe Cop.

The animated short SubWars warns us to respect our elders, because that old man on the subway just might be a Jedi master. Directed by Sean Soong. Contains plenty of cartoon gore. -via The Daily What Geek
Too cute to be threatening? Just wait until Disney on Ice gets a crack at presenting The Avengers. Then you’ll see this idea by cartoonist Sketchlock given the respect that it deserves. You can find cartoons of other team members at the link.

Matt Busch, the Star Wars artist who created the fantastic Zombie Wars posters, has released the grand finale of his How To Draw Star Wars video series (titled How to Break Into the Biz)- with a little help from fellow Star Wars artists Lin Zy, Russell Walks, Randy Martinez, and Spencer Brinkerhoff.
But how can Matt add a little oomph worthy of his long-standing YouTube series? How about with puppets?
Hit play or go to Link [YouTube] | See all of Matt's Zombie Posters on the NeatoShopIf you’ve ever dealt with a computer crash due to virus, hard drive failure or otherwise, then you know this comic is 100% TRUE.
I mean, who has time to waste constantly backing up the hard drive, and technicians can make it all better, right? WRONG.
After you get your system back on track you should make this comic your desktop image and NEVER FORGET to back that data up.
And remember-no amount of key pressing will bring your precious data back, and those kittie pics on your hard drive could have made you A MILLION DOLLARS!
Oh,
this brings back fond memories: The
Human Tim (previously

song.
I dare you not to yell out "Woo Hoo" refrains at the appropriate times in the song. Geeks of Doom has the video clip: Link [embedded YouTube, the middle one] - Thanks Eve!

Indie video games are often strange, simplistic, and frequently laugh out loud funny. Rambo: Last Blood manages to be all three, and it plays out like a short story told with very simple controls and lots of pixels.
Join John Rambo on his last mission in this fun indie game full of machismo, redemption and lots of hugs!

These ridiculous anti-drug PSAs are brought to you by Dorkly, who reminds you that the Caped Crusader can’t always be around to pull you out of harms way.
Sometimes, you just have to stand up for yourself and say “No thank you, I do not want to become a maniacal supervillain, so I will skip the mind altering substances and go straight to the library to catch up on my homework”. Way to be a better you!

The blogger behind Context-Free Patent Art culls video game patents for curious illustrations. Perhaps they make sense when presented in the context of written descriptions, but we don’t have that luxury.
I’m going to assume that the above illustration is of a new controller.
This time, Michelangelo will take his pizza with Wensleydale, thank you very much. Andy Hunter imagined a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie not ravaged by Michael Bay, but rescued by Nick Park of Wallace and Gromit.

Don Schwabs has committed an extremely original act of nerdery by wearing this adorable Pokemon trading card game costume to Melbourne’s Supanova Pop Cultcha Expo.
If you see Don walking around at a Con near you give him a high five for me, and tell him not to get all bent out of shape if I slip on my Mewtwo card costume and put the smack down on his Pikachu card based on hit points alone.
When lives are at stake in a very human version of the Pokemon card game, some players were born to lose. Don was born to be the face of Pikachu.
Laura Bifano puts pencil to paper in order to capture Pokemon in their natural settings, like a naturalist illustrator who draws from her imagination rather than from sightings in the field.
The result is an assortment of fantastically rendered Pokemon that look even cooler than the original versions, and would inspire more awe and wonder if they were seen roaming around their natural habitats.
Just don’t try to catch them all without wearing some sort of protection!
PCKTKNFE is a fun stop motion short by friends James Donhour and Robert Kinsella, who spent six months putting together this animated ode to classic video games.
With music clearly influenced by 8-bit game soundtracks, and the clever use of bead sprites as video game characters who escape the console into the real world, PCKTKNFE is fun to watch even if you end up turning off the sound to avoid losing your mind.
