I’m sure you know some people who only know something if it’s in their Facebook feed. And only the part that actually posted at Facebook. I sometimes thought they couldn’t tell glurge from gossip from real news items because they take everything at face value if a friend posted it. But maybe it’s because actually following links and tracing down the original is such a hassle these days. If you just hear about something, it's easier to search for it on Twitter, but that opens up a whole new and twisted path. Oh, I know what a hassle tracing a story can be, because that’s part of my job. I can see why casual internet users gave up a long time ago. This is the latest from Tree Lobsters.

This is so true. It is especially true with a less than stellar internet connection.
