Some Latin American cultures celebrate a girl's fifteenth birthday with a quinceañera--a party that welcomes a girl to womanhood.
In dog years, 15-year old Angel of Phoenix, Arizona was already long past adolescence. But it was only recently that she had her own quinceañera.
Her owner, Mike Chesworth, decided that if his poodle reached the grand old age of 15, he would throw her a proper quinceañera to celebrate the occasion. On December 7, she reached that milestone. So Chesworth invited his friends to a dog party. As this video shows, it was a glorious event with a mariachi band, a red carpet, a cake, a piñata, and a bounce house.

I just love happy animal stories. My JuneBug (JB) is 12. Perhaps if she makes it to 15 I'll give her a party, too.

Aww. If my older cockapoo reaches that age (he's 12) I'm going to do the same (although with a bit less fanfare. At least, no mariachi bands).
