The Highs And Lows Of Burning Man 2015

Want to know how far Burning Man has come from its bizarro underground roots? Katy Perry attended Burning Man this year, and a video of her falling off her Segway went viral.

But that doesn't mean all the celebrity related stuff that happened at Burning Man 2015 was cheesy, this year Susan Sarandon honored her departed friend Timothy Leary by carrying and burning his ashes in an elaborate ceremony.

Sarandon had this to say about the Leary memorial:

When I went to Burning Man last time, that's when I thought I'd bring him back here...I think he'd be so happy. I think he would have loved the chaos (of Burning Man). He would have loved it, and all these people honoring him with LSD.

Even though the festival has become a bit more trendy and celeb friendly over the years Burning Man is still home to some of the most amazing art cars, sculptures and temporary structures with tons of artistic flair.

And if you want to get a good look at the artistic side of Burning Man you've gotta check out Andrew Miller's AwesomePhotography, because he's been capturing the event for years and really knows how to show an artistic construct's good side.

Burning Man may have been reduced to ashes, but he'll continue to rise each year like a freaky phoenix, as the festival continues to evolve into something more indescribable in the desert.
