‘I didn’t want a normal funeral and it had to be a celebration of life because I have been to too many funerals where they were very sad occasions,’ he explained. ‘I wanted something completely different and I decided my favourite drink is Jack Daniel’s.
Anto Wickham of Belfast, UK, has the right idea. After he takes his last drink, he wants people to celebrate the life that he had. That’s why he commissioned the company Crazy Coffins to build for him a final resting place designed to look like a bottle of his favorite whiskey. George Spencer, the craftsman responsible for the job, recreated the iconic rectangular bottle in wood. It will be the centerpiece of a grand funeral. Wickham describes his plans:
‘I have even planned my music,’ he added. ‘I will be coming in to Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols singing My Way because I am doing everything my way and always have done.’
He added: ‘My headstone is going to have a solar-panelled iPad. I plan to leave a video message with pictures of the coffin, from start to finish.’
