We’ve seen plenty of time-lapse videos of major cities, and they are all beautiful, each with their own flavor. But Pyongyang, North Korea, is a major metropolis that few of us will ever get to see in real life. This video of the city is a collaboration by travel agency Koryo Tours, “branding expert” JT Singh, and videographer Rob Whitworth. It comes across as a tourism spot, and the makers admit that life in the city is not representative of life in North Korea as a whole. But it is also artful, with panoramic segues and various speeds. And of course, Pyongyang has a flavor all its own, with hardworking citizens, huge monuments, and no chaos tolerated. You can read more about the making of the film at Buzzfeed.
(I was just flabbergasted at the end that DHL seems to cater to North Korea. Wonder how in the world they accomplished that…)
