Waves of Grain

(vimeo link)

The “grain” in the title refers to wood grain. The waves are how the grain moves as you penetrate the wood. To get this strata-cut animation, filmmaker Keith Skretch planed off one millimeter of wood between each frame. He was left with a room full of sawdust and a fascinating video. The music is "The Big Gundown" by Ennio Morricone. -via Digg
