An Edible Business Card Made From Coca Leaf

(Video Link)

The war on drugs has applied an unfair stigma to the coca leaf due to its connection to cocaine, but in high altitude cities like Cuzco, Peru chewing coca leaves is a necessary part of life, and can help keep travelers from suffering the effects of altitude sickness.

A backpacker’s hostel called Kokopelli has come up with a clever way to advertise their location to tourists- they’re handing out business cards with a coca leaf in it, so when needed the traveler can pull the leaf out and chew on it to help relieve the symptoms of "being on high ground".

It’s a clever way to deal with a common problem in Peru and get your hostel’s name out there at the same time.
