A taste of spotted dick, Yanks?
Here's what happens when Americans taste test British snacks. Buzzfeed's UK office sent Jelly Babies, Jaffa Cakes, Spotted Dick sponge pudding, Wham Bar ("the official candy of George Michaels" - hah!), Maynards' Wine Gum to their American colleagues. This is what they think of British snacks:
Oh, then the Americans get a bit of revenge when they sent US snacks to the Brits for the reverse taste test.
Here's what the Brits thought about Slim Jim, Warheads, Gushers, Hot Tamales ("the sort of things you give to kids for punishments" - nailed it), and yes, Twinkies.
As an American living in Europe, I miss the snack foods from home. Love getting a care package from time to time with some of the good old home junk food in it! Quite clear though that what you grow up with is what you prefer. Most of the stuff on the shelves here doesn't appeal. Thank goodness M&M's are also sold in Europe! ;)
