A Kitchen in Beads

Artist Liza Lou, an American living in South Africa, spent five years on the installation Kitchen and Backyard. Every surface in this kitchen, from the walls to the furniture to the food packaging and the dishwater in the sink, is covered with tiny shiny glass beads! It's not just the kitchen, as the backyard has grass and flowers made of beads, and even the lawnmower is covered with them. Rolling these objects in glue and beads wasn't good enough. Neither was laying strings of beads. Liza Lou placed each of the millions of beads individually with tweezers to make this one-of-a-kind exhibit. See plenty of pictures of it at demilked. -via Everlasting Blort
