Class of 2015

Somewhere between the time I graduated and the present, schools stopped teaching how to render or decipher Roman numerals. Either that, or this sign maker had to go to the dentist that day. This unidentified sign was posted to reddit today, but the original post from a year ago has comments that discuss and explain how to read and write Roman numerals in depth. In case you are wondering, the class of 2015, which my older daughter belongs to, would be MMXV.

My dad literally once sat me down when I woke up in the morning and made me write down about 200 numbers in Roman Numerals, man did I cry back then, saying I didn't know how (I wanted to watch TV and play on the PC really) which I discovered when my dad, a man made of steel, didn't let me do what I wanted to do until I was done, and I found out I knew how to decipher the numerals perfectly, after just sitting down and for once turning on that brain.

It was a very educational day for me about Roman numerals AND about myself.

The sign was made by some-one who was asleep all through infants, primary and high school.
MMXV instead of 2o4(?) and yes, that is a letter "o" in the middle.
The Romans didn't even have a numeral for zero.
