The show was the brainchild of Rod Serling and set the standard for science fiction and horror stories to follow. My favorite episode is "The Shelter." It's about a close-knit community that becomes something else entirely when there's not enough room in the only bomb shelter. It shows the ugliness of the human soul during desperate times.

"Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" - the episode with Shatner - was pretty awesome. John Lithgow did an amazing job in the movie version back in 1983 -- the segment was directed by George Miller.
