Tree Houses for Grown Ups

Photo: Philip Jodidio

Like dreams and aspirations, tree houses were something I was obsessed with as a kid -always plotting and planning- only to neglect and diminish as I got older. Grown-ups can't live in tree houses, they have to pay mortgages and get jobs. Reminds me of a scene from Step Brothers (Warning NSFW Language); these people didn't lose their dinosaur- so to speak.

Philip Jodidio, one of the world’s most popular writers on the subject of architecture, has written a fantastic book set to be released mid-December titled Tree Houses: Fairy Tale Castles in the Air. Proof that enchanting treetop dwellings aren’t just the stuff of childhood fantasies, the stunning tome takes readers around the world to peek inside 50 of the most imaginative, awe-inspiring, at-one-with-nature digs for modern day dilettantes. From Sweden’s Treehotel inspired by the philosophic film The Tree Lover to Andreas Wenning’s treetop baumraums, click through to check out some of the incredible havens featured in this beautiful book.
