The Downside of Social Media

I feel like I have had this exact conversation a few too many times. A friend of mine was visiting from across the country, staying on our couch for a couple weeks, and I wanted to tell him all about my Los Angeles exploits over the last few months. Unfortunately, he already knew everything- saw my Facebook photos and followed my on my sparsely used Twitter account. The excitement of telling him my stories was lost thanks to Social Media.

Has anyone else experienced this situation?

Reminds me of the time when I went to a party at my friend's house, and she was on her computer. I saw that she was looking at my Facebook profile, and joked that she was stalking me. She did this for other party guests too (perhaps to look for things to talk about with them.) It didn't really bother me - after all, if there was something I didn't want my friend to know, I wouldn't've put it on Facebook for all to see.
