Ford's "Wrist Twist" Steering System from 1965

(Video Link

Robert J. Rumpf knew nothing about cars. He was a missile engineer, not an automotive designer. Ford hired him for that reason. Hopefully he'd bring an outside perspective to their design team. Rumpf's work led to this, the "wrist twist" steering system. Instead of one large steering wheel, this car has two small handheld wheels that are twisted like dials. Would you like to drive a car that was equipped with them?
