The Museum That's Full of Cats

(Video Link)

The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg has a dark secret under its floorboards -65 cats. Actually, it's more adorable than dark, as these kitties aren't just there to brighten up the place -they have a job to do; it's their job to keep the museum free from rodents. With that many cats in the basement, there are, of course, dedicated caretakers for the museum's cat population as there aren't nearly enough mice to keep that many predators full.

You know, as long as they have litter boxes or dirt, the cats probably won't poop or pee in the museum, especially considering the caretakers probably clean up said litter boxes/dirt.

I went to the hermitage museum two years ago, and it was awe-inspiring. The size of the museum coupled with its collection definitely makes it a landmark of St. Petersburg, and I do remember seeing a few cats in the line outside.
