The Official Song of the London Olympics

The news broke Monday of the selection of "Survival" by the band Muse as the official song of the 2012 Summer Games. Immediately, YouTube was filled with videos of the song, slapped together in a hurry by everyone and his brother. Then today the International Olympic Committee released the official video, in which epic sports footage adds a lot to the music. However, this is the IOC, which believes allowing websites to embed their videos will reduce the value of the brand or something, so you'll have to see it at YouTube. Link -via Metafilter

Real, talented, educated musicians playing real music. If that's a little too challenging for you, Joe, I'm sure Simon Cowell has something that would suit you right down to the ground. Although maybe in a few years he'll get one of his "artists" to do a sanitized cover version.

Obviously you're no judge of music, but if you don't like it you don't have to comment. The people who like it think you're a jerk and for the people who don't like it you are preaching to the converted. Nobody is forcing you to listen, just get back to listening to the stuff you like.
