Dad's Not Worth As Much As Mom When It Comes To Household Chores

Father's Day is this coming Sunday, so tell your dad that you love him and that you appreciate all the daddy duties that he did, like getting rid of that icky bug from the house.

But don't tell him that he's not worth as much as mom when it comes to doing things around the house. As Emmet Pierce of Insure.com calculated, Dad's value in 2012 is $20,248 (compare that to mom's value of $60,182): Link

Here is the senior editor's email if anyone else would like to send their thoughts. Mine were pointed but respectful, I hope.

As a single father, I find this offensive, devoid of fact, and unrepresentative of both my own situation, and that of my married friends. These "statistics" may have held for a father in the early 1960s, but is irrelevant today, as the breadth of experience is too wide to pinpoint a meaningful mean.
