Grilled Banana Boats

Stephanie at Lick My Spoon has a great idea for dessert while grilling with friends. Take a banana and slit it lengthwise. Fill in the slit with chocolate chips, coconut shavings or little marshmallows. Wrap the banana in aluminum foil and set it on the grill.

This is an old girl scout recipe. We were taught to peel one flap of the banana and remove one wedge of the inside to make room for the chocolate chips. Then you can use the peel flap to close it back up again. Once you wrap it in aluminum foil, it isn't quite so critical to keep them upright.

Warning - although they are delicious, they do not come out looking pretty like in the picture.

This was my idea! I do this when camping, and call them hot bananas. We already have the ingredients from making s'mores, and aluminium foil handy. I do it with just PB and chocolate chips though.
