35-Foot Long Camera Exposes 6-Foot Negatives

Dennis Manarchy's ambitious project is to travel across the United States and take pictures of people vanishing from the American experience, such as Native Americans, cowboys and Medal of Honor winners from World War II. That itself is nothing new, but to complete the project, Manarchy plans to build a camera so large that it must be towed by a truck.

He should be going across country taking pictures of all the people who don't use digital cameras. Or are they harder to find than WWII vets?

I love this. I am way more impressed by someone building something like this than I would be with a person taking pictures with a fancy digital camera and blowing them up.

Or he could...you know buy a high megapixel digital camera and blow the pictures up to 6' and save a ton of @ss pain.

Many a task unbelievably more difficult/stupid doesn't really add to the project.
