Everything That I Ever Understood about Women Is Now Wrong

I guess that I should be glad that I got married before the revival of Doctor Who. I could do what's crossed out, but I'm not sure that I could come up with a TARDIS. Certainly not a functional one.

My three-year old saw a picture of the TARDIS and asked me what it was. I explained it to her, but I also emphasized that in our family, we are Trekkies. We respect people of other traditions, including Whovians. But we are Trekkies. Gotta start teaching the family ways and traditions while they're young and impressionable.

You see, that's why you're a good parent. You teach your children to keep your personal traditions alive through family practice while also teaching them to understand the value of living in a pluralist society.

"What women want" closely resembles what stalkers have to offer. Being the center of someone else's world has its drawbacks as well as its benefits.

So, let me see if I understand. The pinnacle of romanticism is to be woken in the middle of the night by an insane incompetent madman, who has access to almost unlimited power? And who will then most likely spend ages* agonising about whether he should risk your life while trying to save your planet?

Mate, that must be some strange new meaning of the word I've previously not been aware of.

( *possibly literally.)

Girls minds are simple, all you have to do it listen, respect them, be honest and completely faithful to them. Plus sex. Sex is good too. But normally always on her terms. The point is, girls are like algebra, once you understand us you can do us ;). kidding ;D we're simple minded 'creatures' who want to be treated right, every girl out there is waiting for her prince and every guy is a prince in the making :)

@John Farrier: Wait, you can't be both a Trekkie and a Whovian? I must be doing something wrong then... I spend half my life talking about why you can love both and how I can never say either one is more or less than the other. I must think on this new perspective...

@Mr. Awesome: Wow, dude, tone it down a bit. I get that you've probably had some bad experiences with women, and there are plenty of women in the world who are... problematic... (just as there are plenty of MEN who are also), but this kind of over-the-top, misogynistic, vitriolic, stereotyping does absolutely NO ONE any good. Neither you, nor the women you are railing against. We're all complicated, messy, sometimes short-sighted or ignorant people, and we all come in good, bad, and everything in between. Take a deep breath, and CHILL.

@Amanda Rudd. I suppose that it's possible, but that's a level of syncretism with which I'm not comfortable. And at a practical level, does one get two separate set of holidays off?

@ Amanda: Couldn't agree with you more. Ditto on all fronts. I am a Trekkie and a Whovian now. We must find a way to resolve the inner conflict we inevitably must feel. Also, you were completely right about "Mr. Awesome".

@ Mr. Awesome: Please take Amanda's advice. You have become the male version of a bitter divorcee. Seriously. Have a drink and relax.
