How A Pet Skunk Celebrates Her Birthday

(Video Link)

Apparently Peaches doesn't get treats like this all too often, but it was her birthday after all.

i live in San Francisco and every night a family of skunks comes into the house (via the cat door).

at first it was cute but now it's REALLY annoying. they make a giant mess, they are noisy, they are stupid, and they STINK.

i would be very happy if someone who wanted pet skunks came by and grabbed them when they came in. i just had one wander into my room less than an hour ago.

The wit and discernment of this work of merit stands in stark contrast to it's obvious metaphoric statement of disallusionment with the current democratic administration and it's policies. One must surmise those who keep "skunks" as pets and (dare I say) "celebrate" their birthdays share with us all the nation's frustations and crushed expectations: the boomer's generational shortcomings coming home to roost, and at times trancedending the political mire spawned of it.

Cupcakes indeed!

I want a pet skunk! They're so cute and floofy.
That owner is seriously annoying though. Dude, just SHUT UP and let the dang skunk eat its cupcake in peace!

joe2: if your story is real then you have a big problem on your hands. Wild skunks can carry any number of diseases like distemper, mites, ticks, but most importantly rabies. Call either DNR or someone to trap them.

@joe2 - they must not be that stupid if they are getting in your house through the cat door.

And perhaps people should be informed about skunks and rabies - instead of just posting "OMG!! Skunks have rabies!!"

i have called animal control, they said they consider skunks to be "pests" and we have to call pest control. they say the same thing about racoons - we used to have a racoon problem but i scared them away. skunks are harder to scare away because they will spray if i threaten them.

anyway the pest control places want $200+ to set traps and they don't guarantee it will work and i just don't have the money right now.

as a matter of fact, i made my comment at 3AM and went to sleep - at 5:15 they woke me up again. i'm so tired of them :(

@joe2:

Seal that cat door!! Else... put a hand-full of mothballs in a sock (pantie hose work best) and hang it on-over-around-near the cat door. They hate that stuff and *will* stay away. Fox urine (could be diffucult to find) also works but the mothballs are cheaper.
