Lollapalooza was 20 Years Ago: Do You Feel Old Yet?

That's right. The first Lollapalooza was held twenty years ago in 1991. Feel old, yet alternative (ironically, now mainstream) rockers?

I have a son that's the same age as I was when I went. Excuse me, I need to go not break a hip while I yell at those dang youngsters to get the hell off my lawn....

I was so mad at Nine Inch Nails. They played one song and stormed off the stage. I think they said it was equipment failure, but it was Arizona in the late summer/early fall so it was still hot as hell. I suspect that was the real problem.

Yeah, I'm old. But I can say I was there :) in the heat of the summer, in Dallas, TX.
got the worse sunburn of my life.
Towards the end of the evening they started fires on the lawn burning pastic cups, in a breezeless enclosed area.

Good times.

I saw it in Toronto- and the only thing tired was the show. Yep- I thought it was boring. I wouldn't bother again even if it was free. If memory serves, I saw Eek-A-Mouse afterwards at the Bamboo, and had a blast despite my sunburn.

Waaaaah! Wow. Yes I do feel old, thanks so much. But seeing Trent Reznor and Ice-T sing "Don't Call Me Ni**er, Whitey!" together was unforgettable, as old as I've gotten.
