Serial Wars

If you've been following Neatorama for awhile, you are familiar with the work of Sillof. His latest line of pop culture figures imagines Star Wars characters if they had been produced in the 1940s era of sci-fi serials. Get a closer view of each character (the bad guys are there, too) at Sillof's Workshop. Link

Sandyra, you just don't want to get the point, do you? Was a jumpsuit the style for shows like that back then? They also had Betty Boop showing off her garterbelts in the 30's, and Scarlett O'Hara in a full-length gown, and Dorothy in a blue dress and ruby slippers. But none of those are the same style.

They also had burkas back then, but I'm sure you'd find something wrong with that...

Trying to evoke the 30's HE could have employed a jumpsuit of some kind for the woman, No?? They had them back then too. Just sayin'...

The fun fact is that G. Lucas didn't get the rights to Flash Gordon, a 30's serial, and instead wrote an original story that became Star Wars.

The circle is closed at long last.

C3PO is quite a good interpretation of robot design in those days.
