Pipe Smoking Competition

Apparently, this is a sport, although it's probably fallen out of favor in recent decades. This 1969 video from Cumberland, UK, shows four men trying to finish a full pipe the fastest. Place your bets. -via The Presurfer

I've never heard of a high speed pipe smoking contest. Normally at pipe meets (yes...they have them) the contest is for the slowest smoking of a continually burning pipe.

Of course, those competitions can last as long as 2 hours....much harder to videotape....or get someone to watch. ;-)

At 0:20 in the video the video is revered so that the smoke is inhaled.
