Craig, yeah same here with Bell. Saving $10 apparently. All it seems to be good for is being a black hole for telemarketers to fall into only to never escape from the clutches of the answering machine.

We don't even have a land line. But there are enough cell phones among all my kids to always have at least one that can call the others!

My land line gets WAY more use that my cell. It's much cheaper and results in better connections

My landline sounds a zillion times better than any of my mobile lines. I can't stand sing my mobile aside from anything other than "Yeah, I'm on my way." or the like. Such horrific quality of sound.

LD fees are usually less on landlines. Also with these older corded phones you can make calls during a nuclear holocaust.

Landlines are still VERY useful when the power goes out during Summer thunder storms where I am. It is still more affordable than cellphone service too.
