Yep, they're taught that conformation and being one of the masses is the most important thing.

Heaven forbid they buy into a fad that will pass.

If you look at the American School system you will find that is is based off of the Persian model. The Persian model was deliberately made to stifle creativity and self expression, because that breeds descent and rebellion.

If you look at a person and no matter what they're wearing judge them inferior simply because of their style of dress you are a shallow person.

But heaven forbid that you're not one of the cogs in the machine. After all, nobody who is unique has ever had success.

@bearfoot - principles like these are in many ways more important that the education they receive in school. He is teaching them how to present themselves in a way that allows them to be successful and obtain the respect of others. That is much more valuable than learning what a parabola is.

They're teaching them to not wear pants around their knees. I appreciate the lesson as it more directly affects their life than, say, knowing the capitol of every country.
