Chemical Crayon

Etsy seller Queinteresante combines chemistry and art by creating clear labels of the names of chemicals that make the colors of crayons. Perfect for writing poetry:

Roses are Ruby Al2O3:Cr
Violets are Vanadyl VO2+(aq)


I don't think the labels correspond to the chemicals in the crayons, as the above article implies. Some are highly toxic, others are gaseous, and some are very expensive. Also, the etsy page seems (to me) to suggest these chemicals are just the same colour as the crayons.

Not to mention the fact that a crayon containing elemental Fluorine in it would most likely set the paper on fire when you tried to use it. For that matter, it would probably set your kids on fire too.
