1:9 Scale Saturn 1B Rocket

Steve Eves is building a functional 1:9 scale Saturn 1B rocket. That was a type of rocket used in America's Apollo program. At the link, you can see an extensive gallery of process photos as Eves constructs the model.

The Saturn 1B was used in the testing phase of Apollo to launch modules into orbit. The Saturn V was used for the actual moon trips.

Steve Eves already built and launched a 1:10 scale Saturn V model. In April 2009 I convinced my wife to go on a drive to Maryland's Eastern Shore to watch him launch it. It was a pretty cool experience.

I was at the 2010 Toledo radio control convention last April and they had the Steve Eves 1/10th-scale Saturn there. That thing was a MONSTER....
