Glo Balls

Hostess is teaming up with DC Comics to promote superhero-themed snack food, and Brenda of Geektress noticed something ... well, wrong:

"Glo Balls," on the other hand, bring up images of irradiated testicles. Then I think of the Hulk... in a bad way. I realize I'm being childish and silly, but there you go.

It might be because there are two of them on the packet, with a rampant fist thrusting into the air from between them and the description "CREAMY FILLING" printed next to them.

Thinking of The Hulk when you see this package is indeed quite silly. Hulk and the Green Lantern are Marvel and DC respectively, two completely different universes. I mean, DUH. :)

A ball is a spheroid and just because a testicle is spheroidish doesn't mean these look anything like testicles, which they don't.

But... Ogre Load? A milkshake called 'Ogre Load'? That's disgusting.

There are too many 'hidden jokes'. If marketing companies had to adjust everything for every hidden joke there wouldn't be anything available to /read/ or even /look/ at.

I managed to listen to My Boy Lollipop by Millie Small for nearly 30 years before a friend told me that it might have oral connotations.
