Webchat Went Horribly, Hilariously Wrong

A young Chinese man was pulling a late shift working and he decided to have a little webchat with his girlfriend ... when things went horribly, oh, so horribly wrong.

See what happened (no knowledge of Chinese required, you'll get it): Link

I get the setting up a fake backdrop to fool your gf into thinking your at work while youre really just hanging out with your buddies part but I cant figure out why he didnt have any pants on or what startled him

How do you print a 3 x 5 foot color printout of a photo and mount it to a foam board without going to a print store and spending at least $100? Even $400.

I have never seen a private person with a large format printer like that, even architecture students who where wealthy trust fund kids at RISD.

I as well call the BS on this one.

Wow, killjoy commenters. The world owes you free, top-notch content that's nothing short of hilarious, and you're not about to let us forget it!

Keep on "sticking it to them" with your indomitable disdain for everything that fails to keep you fully entertained at all times.

Shenanigans.

The underwear gives it away.

Mildly amusing, then kind of insulting as I wondered why the creators thought they could fool people with this.

Wow... people need to relax. It's obviously a commercial of some sort, and as mentioned, a mildly amusing one. Certainly not worth the hate that's being thrown at it.

Translation:

Guy: Is there sound? Is there an image?
Girl: Yeah yeah
Guy: Good
Girl: Hey baby
Guy: Hey
Girl: Your office looks really empty today
Guy: Yeah they've gone to eat while I have to do work
Girl: Baww poor you/you work so hard
Guy: Mmm yeah
Girl: So do you think of me?
Guy: Of course.... OHHH SPIDER!
Girl: eh... EH?! YOU LIED TO ME! YOU'RE PLAYING MAHJONG!!!

Yikes! That's kinda sad. But really funny. It is definitely a neatorama - as it should how easy ($100 - $400) it could be to pretend you are anywhere in the world with a small laptop camera.

Yes, it's an ad, and ads like this are generally not successful. The main reason for this is that, while most people find them funny the first time, by the third time you see it it's irritating. After a dozen viewings it's gone way beyond irritating. This will *not* encourage anybody to buy a product.

@Natey the negative posts above are not, I suspect, because the posters don't find the material amusing. The posters were probably so negative because the neatopost implied the footage was genuine. That's where the letdown comes from. If you saw it on a comedy sketch show you'd laugh, if somebody presented it as factual you'd be disapointed that it was so obviously fake.
