During the Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, George Lucas released this deleted scene from Return of the Jedi.
The scene shows Darth Vader calling to his son to join the Dark Side and Luke Skywalker working on his lightsaber before taking on Jabba the Hutt.

I love it! Luke looks bad ass with his hood and the lightsaber. Epic! Wouldn’t have hurt to put it in ROTJ.

I read the gary kurtz interview. it’s really revealing. just prooves again that lucas kinda sucks.

yeah, no surprise huh. that interview makes actually pretty clear that he let his own idea go down the drain back then already, and not just by introducing jar jar binks.
