15 Amazing Free Hotel Perks

Amanda Greene of Woman’s Day found fifteen odd perks offered to guests for free at different hotels. At the Heatherman Hotel in Kirkland, WA, for example, guests receive a mattress menu:

The boutique property lets you “order” your mattress off their Art of Sleep menu. Choose from European featherbeds, European pillow-tops and Tempur-Pedic mattresses. And you’re not the only one who gets the royal treatment: The hotel also offers an Art of Sleep for Paws menu, featuring pillow-top beds, heated beds and organic bumper beds for dogs.

I don’t think it was an “official” perk that was listed in anything, but when my mom and her colleague went to San Francisco for a conference, they ended up in the last room available in the hotel with just one queen bed…the Folsom Street days were going on at the same time and the hotel was apparently very popular with people in town for the celebration and the couples checking in that weekend all got a bottle of champagne and chocolate strawberries complimentary.

It was very weird. But I know that my mom opted not to tell anyone that they weren’t a couple after they found out what the free room service was for.

Gotta say, I’d love that en-suite goldfish during my stay.

None of these are free– the cost is counted in the price of the room. Most of the Hotels listed are 5 stars and these type of “Perks” are expected. A “complimentary” ride in a Rolls-Royce? Lets not forget that these are the people who flew into the city on their private jet.
