Microsoft Redesigns the iPod Packaging

Can you improve the simple elegance of Apple iPod packaging? Yes, said Microsoft. Here's a clever spoof of what a Microsoft-designed iPod package would look like. The reason it's funny is because it's so spot on:

Can someone please tell me the name of the song they use in this?!?!

It's been in my head for ages and I can't figure out how to figure it out since my humming cannot be googled.

Now, this video comes along! Sweet serendipity! Somebody please please please tell me the name of this song!

Of course what they don't tell you...Microsoft's marketing department actually made this video as a spoof on themselves. You've got to give them a little credit for that.

Also, Bryan...this was the theme to the Pee Wee Herman movie written by Danny Elfman.

Wow, what year is it? I'm having flashbacks.

BTW, the problem isn't just that it's old (and it is), but that it made *all* the blogosphere back when it came out, so we've all seen it 50 times already. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Neatorama already posted it-- pretty much everybody else did.

Music is by Danny Elfman and can be found on his album - Music from a Darkened Theater.

I love his music - whether from Oingo Boingo or from his numerous movie scores. And the arrangements ny Steve Bartek!
