Frida Kahlo in Aluminum Cans

By John Farrier in Art on Jul 9, 2010 at 11:11 am

Phoenix-based artist Emily Costello made this portrait of Frida Kahlo out of (apparently) pieces of aluminum cans. It currently hangs in the Halperin & Lake Collection. She plans to create a similar portrait of a Mexican wrestler.

Am I the only person on the internet who does not have Facebook? Is there another link so I can view this?

@Frau — I tried to find one when I posted this, but couldn’t. There’s not much to look at anyway — just the original picture and a few comments.

@ Alex – exactly. No Unibrow = No Frida!
    It is nice though!

I agree. The unibrow is an essential aspect of her personality. She wasn’t ashamed of it, so it saddens me that this artist was.
