Big Sandwich: the Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt

It's a hamburger that uses two grilled cheese sandwiches for the bun, offered by Friendly's. Only 1500 calories! Consumerist has more nutritional information. Link -via Other Crap

Wasn't The Vortex the first to do the grilled cheese sandwhiches for buns? Find the Triple Bypass burger from The Vortex. Just looking at it turns my blood to cheez whiz.

When I was a kid, and capable of consuming whatever I wanted due to a much higher metabolism, the Friendly's Big Beef was *the* best hamburger. They were true beef goodness, marinated in "Italian" dressing, and provided on toast. That was back when Friendly's was a purely independent operation.
Now, sadly, that sandwich of my halcyon youth is no more. I wish they would bring back the old Big Beef, instead of bringing out this thing. Pheh.

Just wrap it in bacon, batter it and deep fry it like a Monte Carlo. Perfect for a heart attack.
Please note that if someone decides to do that. Give me credit. Thnx.

a custom burger joint near me called the counter offers some behemoth burgers. patty weights are after cooking and are offered in 1/3, 2/3 or a full pound. i usually get the 2/3s with bacon, grilled onions, fried onion strings, pepper jack, pineapple, jalapenos, sprouts and bbq sauce. guaranteed heart burn but god damn it's good.
